Social Responsibility

The Humuya Inn was started as a safe lodging for teams that came down to Honduras for different projects. Throughout the years we have had medical brigades, sports, constructions, surgical, and vacation Bible school teams. As a business we not only want to be the lodging place for teams but we have also partnered with several different organizations in order to be able to have a greater impact in Honduras. When it all first began we worked as the team coordinators and liaisons in Honduras, as the hotel grew we still stayed involved with the groups but took a step back from that role. As a family our passion for Honduras is even greater and we are so thankful and excited that we have the ability to change the lives of many families.

Here are a few of the different organizations that we partner with

INSPIRATA

Inspirata is a Christian based organization seeking to bring hope to the people of Tegucigalpa, Honduras one person at a time through education. As a family we believe we are called to “open wide your hand…to the needy and to the poor...”. (Deu 15:11)

Projects

Every year the Humuya Inn staff has at least one community outreach project that we undertake. The last few years we have built a total of 6 houses, hosted a Christmas party at a local special needs orphanage, hundreds of hours translating for US teams that come down and construction projects for local needy families.
